Painted Easter Bunny

I love this bunny craft we made today! It was so much fun to watch my daughter scrape the paint off of the paper and create a unique work of art. This wonderful art project is perfect for preschoolers, but older children will also love this painting technique.

Materials Used

White Paper

Something To Draw With

Scissors

Paint

A Plastic Knife or Some Other Flat Tool

I started by drawing a bunny shape on the white paper.

Next, I had my daughter cut it out.

After the bunny shape was cut out, I helped my little one squirt paint onto it. This got messy! This is not a craft that will have a quick clean up. You’ve been warned!

After all the paint was on, I had my daughter use a playdough knife to scrape the extra paint off of the bunny.

The finished product is a unique piece of art!

Cotton Swab Painted Easter Egg

Easter is less than a month away. We had originally written this post last year, but since most Easter events are canceled this year, we thought we’d come back and do this art project again! We have not decorated real eggs yet this year at our house, but yesterday, we painted a paper egg.

Materials Needed

  • White Paper (We used paper from a big roll of white craft paper)
  • Scissors
  • Paint (We used three colors)
  • Cotton Swabs

I started by cutting out an egg shape. If your little one is able to use scissors, you can draw the shape and let them do the cutting. After that, I gave my toddler the paint and let her use the cotton swabs to paint her egg however she wanted.

The cotton swab painting is so much fun for toddlers!
