Materials Needed
Paper Plate
Googly Eyes
Black And Pink Crayons Or Markers
Glue
Scissors
Construction Paper (We used brown, green, and orange)

Start by drawing a triangle on the orange paper, an arch-like shape on the brown paper, and two circles on any color of construction paper your child would like. If you are doing this craft with elementary school-aged children, you can let them draw the shapes! If you have some lying around, you could also use patterned craft paper or wallpaper samples for the circles. Next, help your child cut out the shapes.

After the cutting is done, have your little one glue on the googly eyes and the orange triangle nose.

While that is drying, give your child the circles to glue on each side of the arch.

After the glue has dried a little, give your child the crayons to draw eyebrows and a mouth. Encourage them to draw any expression they’d like on the snowman. If you’d like to turn this craft into an educational activity, you can ask your child what emotion their snowman’s face is showing. After that, ask your child what makes them feel that emotion.

To finish up this fun craft, help your child glue the ear muffs onto the sides of the paper plate. This takes a little extra pressure and may be too difficult for young children to do alone. As an alternative, you could also just staple them on.

This little craft turned out so cute! I smile when I look at it hanging up on my wall. I hope you and your kids have fun making yours. If you’d like to share their snowman face creations, please join my Facebook group and post a few pictures!
