Tourist trap or hidden gem? Our trip to Doolittle Station in DuBois, Pennsylvania

My family drove to DuBois, Pennsylvania, to visit Doolittle Station this past weekend. The moment we turned into the parking lot, I knew we had picked a great way to spend the day.

What is Doolittle Station?
Doolittle Station is a unique roadside attraction in DuBois, Pennsylvania. This attraction offers a dinosaur museum, a brewery, unique dining options, and more. They even offer the opportunity to spend the night in their private sleeping cars.

Things we did during our time at Doolittle Station.
I had no idea what to expect when my family arrived at Doolittle Station. I had read about it online a year or so ago, but no one I know personally had ever heard of it. Our trip started with a meal at The Roadside Café. The inside atmosphere was so much fun. It had a very vintage feel. The food was terrific and very reasonably priced. The three of us ate for around $30.

After lunch, we went to the dinosaur museum. It wasn’t in a huge building, but the admission was only $5 a person, so I thought it was a good value. They dinosaurs that children could ride, a giant sand pit, virtual reality pods, and very detailed animatronic dinosaur displays.

Some of the dinosaurs were a little run down, and the virtual reality pods weren’t all working, but it was still a fantastic attraction. It was easy to tell that a lot of care went into creating each dinosaur display.

The fun continued outside of the museum, where they had even more dinosaurs and a few dragons. They also had goats because no Pennsylvania roadside attraction is complete without goats!

Tourist trap or hidden gem?
Doolittle Station is definitely a hidden gem. There is so much to do in one location. Not many places have so many dinosaur animatronics in one place. It is worth a trip!
