Giraffe Headband

Giraffe Headband

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been having some jungle animal themed fun during our homeschool preschool time. Today, we made an adorable giraffe headband!

Materials Used

  • Yellow Construction Paper
  • Brown Construction Paper
  • A Stapler
  • Glue
  • Scissors

I started by cutting the yellow construction paper into four thick strips. I stapled three together and made the giraffe’s ossicones (horns) with the last strip. I cut giraffe spots from the brown paper.

Next, I had my toddler glue the spots onto the yellow paper.

To finish this adorable craft, I helped my toddler glue the ossicones on the back of the yellow paper. After that, I stabled the paper so that it would fit around her head. The whole craft took about 15 minutes. It involved a little more adult participation than most of what you’ll find on this blog, but my toddler loved running around the house in her giraffe headband.

Paper Plate Lion

Paper Plate Lion

This summer, we have gotten to go to several zoos and animal parks! As summer comes to an end, we decided to bring some of that animal fun home with a few jungle animal crafts! Today, we want to share an easy paper plate lion!

Materials Used

  • Paper Plate
  • Yellow Paint
  • Brown Construction Paper
  • Yellow Construction Paper
  • A Paint Brush
  • Googly Eyes
  • Glue
  • Scissors

I started by giving my toddler the paper plate to paint.

We let the paint dry overnight. Once it was dry, I helped my toddler cut strips from the brown construction paper. I cut ear like shapes from the yellow construction paper.

Once the paper was cut out, we glued it onto the back of the paper plate.

To finish this craft, we flipped it over and added googly eyes!
