Easy Paper Chick

Beautiful spring weather has come to Ohio. To celebrate, today we want to share an easy little chick craft that is perfect for little ones who are just learning to use scissors!

Materials Used

  • Construction Paper (White, Yellow, Black, and Orange)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Googly Eyes

I started by cutting out a big circle from the yellow paper, a triangle from the orange paper, and feet like shapes from the black paper. If you are doing this craft with an older child who already has good scissor skills, let them do the cutting!

Next, I gave my toddler the scissors so that she could make snips around the circle. Making snips is a great way to introduce little ones to scissor use!

I took the circle and folded the edges that had just been cut upwards. After that was done, I helped my toddler glue the parts of the chick onto the white paper. I always offer as little guidance as possible when we do crafts like this so that she can make her own creations.

To finish up, I gave my toddler googly eyes to glue on her chick.

Book Suggestions

Little learners often enjoy pairing a book with a craft project. If you want the book before Easter, make sure to double check the shipping date.
