Terrific Books For Toddlers

Last week, we shared a list of great books for newborns. This week, we want to share some terrific book choices for toddlers! We know toddlers can be rough on books, so every book on the list is under $12.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a must have classic! We love Eric Carle in our house and have many of his books. This story is colorful and very easy for toddlers to follow along with!

Press Here is a fun and very interactive book. Most toddlers have short attention spans, so books like this that really get them involved are so important!

I fell in love with Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus when I was doing my student teaching “a few” years ago! It is just so fun! This is a great book for not just home, but for a toddler day care setting as well.

Baby Faces lets toddlers explore a variety of faces and words.
Most toddlers love looking at pictures of other babies and toddlers!

  1. The only one of these we had/have is The Hungry Caterpillar. My boys love it. My oldest son’s first birthday was Hungry Caterpillar themed, and they have found a game on their tablets with the caterpillar.

  2. I LOVED “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” when I was little. I remember putting my fingers through the holes in the pages where the caterpillar had eaten through all the foods 🙂

  3. Guess How Much I Love You is a great beginner book as well! All these are really great books to introduce kids, I have the Caterpillar one but I will get the rest in due time!

  4. These are all such fun books – we and/or the girls’ preschool had all of them. There are actually several books with a variation on the “Press Here!” theme, and they are all great!
